Job summary

Glassboard is a product development company based in Indianapolis, Indiana. We seek a Senior Industrial Designer who leads design direction on complex programs, mentoring other designers and guiding concepts through production intent.

You will collaborate with engineers, PMs, and clients to balance function, usability, aesthetics, and manufacturability while advancing the firm’s design standards. The role reports to the Director of Product and involves hands-on design work, prototyping

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 4 years of professional industrial design experience.
• Portfolio showing leadership on production-intent products, not just concept work.
• Proficiency in parametric modeling and visualization tools (Onshape/SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suite, KeyShot, Figma).
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and DFM/DFA practices.
• Exceptional ideation and storytelling abilities.
• Collaborative, user-focused approach with attention to detail and rapid iteration.

Responsibilities

• Lead design direction from concept through production intent.
• Mentor other designers and elevate the team's craft.
• Own Class-A surfacing within production CAD and collaborate with engineering on DFM.
• Manage tasks and timelines across multiple programs.
• Lead client communications and presentations.
• Conduct market and user research to inform decisions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to address design constraints early.
