Job summary

Hood Industries, Inc. in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, is hiring an Electronic Controls Engineer to design, implement, and optimize industrial control systems across our mills and facilities.

You will work with PLC/SCADA, HMIs, and automation software to improve uptime, safety, and production efficiency while partnering with maintenance and operations teams. The role requires a strong hands-on engineering background, experience with Ignition, Rockwell/Siemens platforms, and robotics integrations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering or related technical field with 7+ years in controls engineering.
• Industry experience designing, implementing, and supporting PLC/SCADA solutions across multiple facilities.
• Strong knowledge of Rockwell and Siemens platforms, automation software, and robotics integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, troubleshoot, and support PLC, HMI, SCADA, and Ignition applications.
• Develop automation solutions to improve uptime, safety, reliability, and production efficiency.
• Lead control system upgrades and plant-wide modernization projects with vendors and OEMs.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure reliable system performance.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial networks and instrumentation, including EtherNet/IP, Modbus, and OPC UA.
