Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions seeks a senior automation engineer to design, program, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems across our manufacturing clients in the U.S. You will integrate new equipment, support FAT/SAT, commissioning, startups, and upgrades.

The role requires 6+ years in industrial automation, hands-on Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLC programming, and proficiency with FactoryTalk or Ignition. Willingness to travel 50%+ and collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, OEMs, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Controls, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 6+ years of industrial automation experience.
• Hands-on Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC programming experience.
• Experience with FactoryTalk, Ignition, or similar HMI/SCADA platforms.
• Strong electrical and controls troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with automated manufacturing or packaging equipment.
• Ability to travel 50%+ across the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems
• Integrate new manufacturing and packaging equipment into existing control systems
• Troubleshoot controls, instrumentation, and equipment issues to minimize downtime
• Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, startups, and equipment upgrades
• Drive controls standardization and automation improvements across facilities
• Develop production data collection and reporting solutions
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, OEMs, and system integrators
• Support automation initiatives for capital projects and facility expansions
