Job summary

Hood Plywood, a division of Hood Industries, Inc., seeks a PLC Technician for Beaumont, MS. The role focuses on implementing, troubleshooting and maintaining electrical, controls and drive systems to advance automated production processes.

Applicants should have PLC experience, knowledge of Allen-Bradley controls, and willingness to work varying shifts in a hot industrial environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree a plus.
• 2 years PLC experience required; wood industry experience preferred.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix preferred.
• Knowledge of industrial electricity, motor controls, VFDs, AC drives.

Responsibilities

• Implement, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical and control systems.
• Provide onsite support for maintenance and diagnostics on equipment.
• Assist PLC troubleshooting and programming.
• Monitor automated systems and perform repairs as needed.
• Collaborate with engineers and mill staff on automation projects.
• Maintain safety and preventative maintenance programs.
