True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to support automation and process-control systems in a highly automated manufacturing facility in Mobile, AL.
This hands-on role covers troubleshooting, upgrading, and leading capital projects from concept through startup. The ideal candidate has extensive PLC experience (AB ControlLogix and Siemens S7/TIA Portal), knowledge of DCS/SCADA/HMI, instrumentation, VFDs, and industrial distribution, plus skills in reading
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 5–10+ years in industrial electrical, controls or process-control.
- Strong hands-on PLC programming experience.
- Experience with AB ControlLogix and/or Siemens S7/TIA Portal.
- Experience with DCS, SCADA/HMI and instrumentation.
- Reading electrical schematics, one-line drawings and P&IDs.
- Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
Responsibilities
- Program, troubleshoot, modify, and optimize PLC-based control systems (AB, Siemens).
- Maintain DCS, SCADA and HMI systems for manufacturing processes.
- Lead capital projects from concept through startup.
- Develop and maintain P&IDs, schematics, and control documents.
- Coordinate vendors and outside technical resources.
- Improve equipment reliability and process performance.
