Job summary

The Ruhlin Company in Columbus, OH is seeking a Superintendent for its Industrial Division to direct field construction activities and coordinate direct-hire personnel and subcontractors. This leadership role focuses on keeping projects on schedule, within budget, and aligned with safety and quality goals.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management and at least five years of supervisory experience, with strong scheduling, cost control, and safety skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 5 years of supervisory experience in construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
• Advanced knowledge of construction scheduling and cost control.
• Strong organization, leadership and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise all construction activities, including methods, sequencing, manpower, materials and schedule.
• Manage day-to-day field operations and generate daily job reports.
• Contribute to cost and schedule forecasts and verify progress.
• Coordinate with crafts, departments, and other contractors to support the project schedule.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety programs.
• Lead safety inspections and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare for and participate in job status meetings.
• Train project personnel and foster continuous improvement.
• Oversee project close-out and punch list completion.
