Job summary

Software Toolbox, a full-stack industrial AI company, is seeking a senior Technical Support & Professional Services Engineer. You’ll bridge OPC, IIoT, and cloud deployments, guiding customers from field devices to SCADA and the cloud.

You’ll lead engagements, contribute to pre-sales, and create knowledge resources while collaborating with product and sales to drive reliable integrations and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years in industrial automation, OT networking, or system integration.
• Working knowledge of OPC DA/UA, MQTT, REST APIs, and TCP/IP.
• Experience with SCADA or HMI platforms (AVEVA, Ignition, FactoryTalk).
• Familiarity with PLC environments (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric) and field protocols(Modbus, DNP3, BACnet).
• Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, serial, wireless.
• Experience with Wireshark or similar packet analysis tools.
• Strong written and verbal technical communication; able to translate complex problems clearly.
• Investigative mindset with thorough documentation and testing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical resource for the most complex customer issues across our product portfolio.
• Diagnose and resolve communication problems involving OPC DA/UA, MQTT, REST APIs, TCP/IP networking, and adjacent protocols.
• Work across SCADA and HMI platforms, PLCs, cloud-connected infrastructure, and IIoT edge architectures.
• Collaborate with development partners to isolate, reproduce, and resolve software defects.
• Apply strong networking fundamentals to troubleshoot connectivity beyond the device layer.
• Support customers across energy, oil and gas, food and beverage, automotive, and manufacturing sectors.
• Track resolution patterns and contribute to the knowledge base to reduce repeat incidents.
• Lead professional services engagements for setup, configuration, and integration support.
• Provide architecture guidance and help customers scale integrations.
• Create technical content (notes, KB articles, video guides, training materials) for reuse.
• Deliver services remotely with on-site quality and contribute to pre-sales evaluations.
• Collaborate with product management, development, and sales to drive the roadmap using customer feedback.
• Elevate the team's technical floor through hands-on problem solving.
• Help define the professional services delivery model as the practice grows.
