Job summary

Nippon Express USA, Inc. is seeking a logistics professional to prepare import shipments, handle customs documentation, and coordinate with brokerage, warehouse, and subcontractors to ensure smooth processing of cargo. You will maintain accurate data entry and support accounts receivable for assigned customers.

The role involves collaboration with multiple departments and external carriers, with a focus on timely delivery and compliant documentation within a dynamic logistics environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate or significant or relevant working experience.
  • Approximately 1-2 years freight forwarding industry experience.
  • Some computer skills including data entry and maintenance.
  • Some knowledge of general computer applications desirable.
  • Industry experience preferred.
  • Some knowledge of international commerce (sales and payment terms, customs regulations, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare import shipments for assigned customers, including customs clearance, shipping, labeling and distribution of cargo.
  • Provide customer service through direct contact with the customer.
  • Prepare Import documents for distribution to brokerage department and/or customers' broker.
  • Communicate with other departments such as customs brokerage and warehouse.
  • Communicate with subcontractors such as truckers and airlines to obtain necessary information to process shipments.
  • Filing and data entry.
  • Responsible for accounts receivable for assigned accounts to collect unpaid invoices within credit term.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties
  • Prepare import shipments for assigned customers. This may include customs clearance, shipping, labeling, and distribution of cargo. Generate delivery orders and shipping labels as needed.
  • Provide customer service through direct contact with the customer.
  • Prepare Import documents for distribution to brokerage department and/or customers' broker.
  • Communicate with other departments such as customs brokerage and warehouse.
  • Communicate with subcontractors such as truckers and airlines in order to obtain necessary information in order to process shipments in the best way.
  • Filing and data entry.
  • Responsible for account receivable for assigned accounts to collect Unpaid invoices within credit term

Salary Pay Range: $25.00 - $29.00

This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At NEU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements, Education, and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate or significant or relevant or appropriate working experience.
  • Aproximatley 1-2 years freight forwarding industry experience.
  • Some computer skills including data entry and maintenance and working
  • Some knowledge of general Computer application technology desirable
  • Industry experience Preferred
  • Some knowledge of international commerce (sales and payment term, method, customs regulations etc.)
