Job summary

Canal Alliance, based in San Rafael, CA, seeks an experienced senior attorney to review, audit, and update pending U Visa cases per current regulations and practices.

The role is full-time/exempt, with a hybrid model requiring three days weekly in the office and occasional hearings in San Francisco and Oakland. Reports to the Senior Supervising Attorney of the Affirmative Unit and supports immigrant communities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years humanitarian immigration experience, U Visa preferred.
• Licensed attorney, CA license preferred.
• Bilingual English and Spanish, oral and written fluency.

Responsibilities

• Review pending U Visa cases and update filings per regulations.
• Respond to RFEs, NOIDs, and denials.
• Attend hearings in San Francisco and Oakland when required.
• Collaborate with Senior Supervising Attorney and colleagues.
• Enter data into case management software and manage deadlines.
