Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Immigration Law, including Immigration Issues and Legal Issues relevant to low-income and vulnerable communities.
• Experience handling Immigration matters and Visas, including case preparation, filings, and representation before USCIS.
• Licensed attorney in good standing with a state bar; prior experience in immigration legal services or public interest law preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a substantial caseload, supervise legal staff, and work effectively on multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, with strong attention to detail and ethical practice.
• Ability to work on-site in Richmond and Oakland, CA and engage in community education and outreach as needed.
• Spanish proficiency is highly desirable.

Role Description

The Senior Immigration Attorney is a full-time, on-site role based in Richmond, CA. This role provides direct immigration legal representation and advice to clients, including preparing and filing applications, petitions, and legal documents related to humanitarian relief, family-based immigration, and removal defense. The Senior Immigration Attorney conducts legal research, develops case strategies, and represents clients before immigration courts and government agencies. Day-to-day tasks include supervising and mentoring legal staff, coordinating with case managers and social service teams, and maintaining accurate case records and documentation. The role also involves community outreach, know-your-rights presentations, and collaboration with partner organizations to improve access to immigration legal services.
