Beyond New Horizons (BNH) is seeking an ID&C Imaging System Engineer to lead the design, installation, integration, calibration, and maintenance of advanced high-speed imaging systems at Arnold AFB, TN. The role involves ensuring precise optical alignment, laser safety, and data management for transient test events.

Qualifications

• BS in a closely related engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited university.
• L08: 5+ years in design, development, and operation of high-speed optical diagnostic systems.
• L09: 8+ years with demonstrated technical leadership in high-speed optical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Sustain and upgrade ultra-high-speed imaging systems and related optics.
• Lead setup, alignment, laser safety, and camera synchronization up to 10,000 fps.
• Design optical paths including Schlieren and multispectral setups.
• Coordinate large high-bandwidth video datasets and extract quantitative metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet requirements and schedules.
