Job summary

AMETEK Inc. seeks a Senior QA Engineer to own end-to-end QA for our IIoT device ecosystem, spanning firmware to APIs, telemetry, and data exchanges.

You will embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and validate MQTT, Azure Service Bus, and cloud components across Windows Forms/Services, Azure Functions, SQL Server, and Cosmos DB. The role emphasizes performance, observability, and field-ready validation, with MAUI mobile app testing and BLE interactions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software testing & QA experience, with end-to-end platform testing.
• Experience with automated testing strategies using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Puppeteer.
• Strong understanding of Black box testing, Load Testing, Observability and Performance/Reliability.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end QA of IIoT devices and supporting services, including firmware behavior, device calibration workflows, message processing, and telemetry accuracy.
• Integrate automated testing within CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps Pipelines), with quality gates and clear failure reporting.
• Design test strategies for firmware, including coverage planning, regression strategy, release validation gates, and traceability from requirements to results.
• Validate IoT telemetry ingestion pipelines and MQTT topics, including payload schemas, timestamps, units, and data quality rules.
• Validate telemetry data hierarchies and channel delivery across API-based extraction and sFTP-based data exchanges.
• Validate event-driven and asynchronous workflows, particularly Azure Service Bus (Topics/Subscriptions and Queues), including ordering, retries, dead-letter handling, idempotency, and replay scenarios.
• Perform system, integration, and data validation testing across Windows Forms/Services, Azure Functions, Azure Container Apps, Azure App Services, SQL Server, and Cosmos DB.
• Lead performance and reliability testing (device-to-cloud and cloud-to-consumer), and validate observability (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting).
• Plan and execute mobile application validation across MAUI-based apps and UI/UX/backend flows.
• Validate mobile BLE interactions with IIoT devices in field-like conditions, including pairing, reconnect behavior, range/interference, and failure recovery.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve productivity and to evaluate AI-generated outputs.
