Job summary

Akamai Technologies GmbH is seeking a Senior II Solutions Engineer to partner with Public Sector pre‑sales teams and customers, delivering innovative web acceleration, security, and cloud solutions. You will lead technical demos and design architectures aligned to government needs.

The role requires 12+ years of experience and a Bachelor's in CS or Engineering, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain a US government clearance.

Qualifications

• 12 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain and retain a US government clearance.
• Experience in customer-facing consulting, technical solutions pre-sales, or pre-sales roles.
• Background in web acceleration, web security, infrastructure security, or cloud computing.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, HTML, SSL and Cloud Computing.
• Customer advocate with ability to present to diverse audiences.
• Experience presenting technical topics to diverse audiences.
• Team player able to collaborate and solve problems in a fast-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Creating sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers.
• Managing the technical proposal process and ensuring all technical information and recommendations address customer requirements.
• Tracking account activity for business analysis and reporting, designing technical solutions to meet our customers' needs.
• Leading sales activities such as Technical Demos and Proof of Concepts (POCs).

As a Senior II Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Creating sales opportunities by managing the pre‑sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers

• Tracking account activity for business analysis and reporting, designing technical solutions to meet our customers needs.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $139,300 - $250,700/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
