Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Solutions Engineer in the Public Sector Pre-Sales team to design and sell innovative internet solutions.

You will partner with engineering and business teams, becoming the technical expert our customers rely on, delivering value across the Akamai platform for government and regulated industries. You will lead technical demos, develop proposals, and analyze account activity to design solutions that meet customer requirements, while collaborating

Qualifications

• 12 years of experience in a customer-facing consulting, technical solutions pre-sales or pose sales role.
• Background in web acceleration, web security, infrastructure security technologies or cloud computing solutions.
• Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the internet, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, HTML, SSL protocols.
• Be a customer advocate passionate about delivering technical solutions.
• Demonstrate experience presenting technical topics to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Creating sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers
• Managing the technical proposal process and ensuring all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate
• Tracking account activity for business analysis and reporting, designing technical solutions to meet our customers needs.
• Leading sales activities such as Technical Demos and Proof of Concepts (POCs).

As a Senior II Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Creating sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers
• Managing the technical proposal process and ensuring all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate
• Tracking account activity for business analysis and reporting, designing technical solutions to meet our customers needs.
• Leading sales activities such as Technical Demos and Proof of Concepts (POCs).

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 12 years of experience and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Have US citizenship as well as the ability to obtain and retain a US government clearance.
• Have experience working in a customer-facing consulting, technical solutions pre-sales or pose sales role
• Have background and experience in web acceleration, web security, infrastructure security technologies or cloud computing solutions
• Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the internet, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, HTML, SSL protocols and Cloud Computing
• Be a customer advocate passionate about delivering technical solutions
• Demonstrate experience with presenting technical topics to diverse audiences
• Be a team player, able to collaborate, prioritize, and solve problems in a fast changing environment

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $139,300 - $250,700/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
