Job summary

Caris Life Sciences seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate identity-resolution and master data management services ensuring accurate patient and provider records across complex healthcare data flows.

You will work with AI coding assistants, own data models and APIs, and collaborate with product, governance, and engineering to manage identity risks. Location is Irving, TX with on-site/hybrid arrangements and three days on campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and maintaining production software systems.
• 3+ years designing or operating entity-resolution, record-linkage, MDM, or similar identity systems in production.
• 2+ years building system integrations through APIs, event-driven patterns, or batch data pipelines.
• Experience designing data models and remediation workflows for duplicate or conflicting records.
• Hands-on fluency with AI coding assistants and agentic development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain identity-resolution and MDM services for patient and provider data.
• Develop and tune deterministic and probabilistic matching across names, addresses, dates of birth, contact information, identifiers, and other attributes.
• Implement workflows to merge, unmerge, link, and separate records with auditable trails.
• Define and monitor resolution-quality, data-quality, performance, and reliability measures.
• Own the data models, APIs, and integration patterns that connect upstream and downstream clinical systems.
• Partner with product, data governance, clinical operations, compliance, and engineering to refine requirements and manage identity-related risks.
• Write and maintain design documents, architecture decision records, and data-flow documentation.
• Review code and contribute automated tests (unit, integration, regression, performance).
• Automate recurring engineering tasks; scripts and automation replace manual processes.
• Instrument and support production services; participate in incident response and root-cause analysis.
• Mentor engineers through code review and pair programming.
• Work AI-first: use AI coding assistants and agentic workflows with quality gates.
