Job summary

Vanguard is seeking a senior Identity Platform Engineer to design, implement, and operate Okta-based identity solutions across enterprise systems. You will lead onboarding, automate identity workflows, and collaborate with cloud, security, and application teams to reduce risk and improve service maturity.

The role emphasizes platform engineering, operational excellence, and mentorship, with a hybrid work model and a focus on performance, reliability, and security.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in large-scale systems, cloud security engineering, or identity platform engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in CS/IT/Engineering.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Okta Workforce Identity Cloud.
• At least 2 current Okta certifications (e.g., Okta Certified Professional, Administrator, Consultant, Developer).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-scale identity solutions using Okta Workforce Identity capabilities.
• Lead application onboarding initiatives including SAML, OIDC/OAuth, SCIM provisioning, federation, lifecycle management, and authentication integrations.
• Develop scalable identity architectures to improve security, operational efficiency, and user experience.
• Partner with cloud and platform teams to integrate identity controls across enterprise platforms and cloud environments.
• Design automation solutions using APIs, scripting, IaC, and CI/CD to reduce manual effort and improve service delivery.
• Own platform resiliency initiatives including disaster recovery planning, monitoring, and incident response.
• Mentor engineers and drive continuous improvement across identity initiatives.
