Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is hiring an ICT Design Engineer to join a global engineering team responsible for the physical layer in AWS data centers. You will develop pathway, space, and cabling designs, define construction requirements, and coordinate with industry suppliers and on-site personnel to meet safety and cost targets.

You will also engage with engineers and managers across AWS to deliver innovative solutions and support time-to-market goals in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities like data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
• Experience commissioning equipment and facilities.
• Experience researching new designs, construction methods, and technologies for data center infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of ICT pathway, cabling and equipment designs and specifications.
• Review and approve ICT pathway, cabling and equipment submittals.
• Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively.
• Support new technology and design activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost and installation time.
• Travel 20+% to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS' Data Centers.
• Contribute creative, effective solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
