Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company seeks a senior cybersecurity leader to direct the strategic and technical cybersecurity program for generation. You will coordinate high-impact projects, set priorities, and influence policy and architectural decisions in a complex industrial setting.

Based in Perry, Ohio, the role requires 7–10 years in cybersecurity/ICS, strong networking expertise, and a proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience in cybersecurity or ICS roles.
• Expert in ICS/OT environments, network security, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven record of leading major cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced certifications preferred (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CISM, CEH).
• Expert understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, firewalls, segmentation; industrial/air-gapped networks a plus.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation with PowerShell, JavaScript, and Python.

Responsibilities

• Define and oversee implementation of cybersecurity architecture and lifecycle strategies.
• Lead response to high-severity threats and represent generation in enterprise incident response.
• Set standards for secure design and configuration for plant systems.
• Collaborate with senior plant management and enterprise IT leaders.
• Evaluate and recommend cybersecurity tools and vendors.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in controls and processes.
