Job summary

The City of Boise Parks and Recreation invites applications for a Senior Ice Skating Instructor to teach youth and adults on the ice in a fun, supportive, and safe environment.

You'll introduce beginners to the basics, help skaters refine skills, answer questions from participants and parents, and create engaging lessons that make learning on the ice enjoyable. The position requires 18+ and a background in figure skating coaching.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be a U.S. Figure Skating Registered Coach through a recognized figure skating club or as an individual.
• Must complete CER Class C within six month of date of hire.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience within a U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skill Program or ISI weSKATE program.

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Applicants must be able to pass:

• City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation

Provides ice skating instructions and advice for groups. Ensures a safe and effective learning environment for all participants.

Answers questions from participants and parents as required in accordance with City of Boise Policies and procedures.

Working Environment

The work environment will include inside conditions, outdoor weather conditions, extreme temperatures and in wet and humid conditions. Work includes protected exposure to bodily fluids.

This position works: evenings and weekends.
