Job summary

Intertek in Morgan Hill, California is seeking a Special Inspector to perform testing, observations, and inspection duties under general supervision within the A/E/C sector. The role supports soil and concrete testing, data interpretation, and reporting.

The position offers a base wage of $35–$60 per hour, with relocation assistance and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k) with match, generous PTO, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years’ related inspection experience.
• ICC reinforced concrete certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Ability to work off shifts and overtime.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and calibrate testing equipment and conduct soil/concrete testing with data reporting.
• Read and interpret drawings, specs, and diagrams.
• Observe site activities and perform inspection tasks.
• Document test results with detailed observations and interpretations.
• Communicate effectively with clients and project teams; participate in meetings.
• Ensure adherence to safety and quality protocols on-site.
