Prophecy Technologies Corp is seeking a Senior Data Engineer focused on scaling and maintaining data processes on the IBMi stack. You will lead quality software practices and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Software Engineers, and Site Reliability Engineers.

Ideal candidates have extensive RPGLE/CL/SQL experience on IBMi DB2, familiarity with RDI, and a track record of agile collaboration in large organisations.

This Senior Data Engineer IBMi role focuses on scaling and maintaining existing data processes and the IBMi hardware tech stack, while providing technical guidance and ensuring quality software engineering practices. The position involves significant collaboration across teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Scaling existing data processes, focusing on quality every step of the way.
• Monitoring, maintaining, and scaling the IBMi hardware tech stack in close cooperation with external partner companies.
• Providing guidance on technology, library, and tooling choices to the team.
• Avoiding scope-creep, over-engineering, under-testing, and technical debt.
• Learning business domains.
• Using good software engineering principles and best practices to solve business problems.
• Intra-team and Cross-team collaboration with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Software Engineers, and Site Reliability Engineers.
• Mentoring of (Junior) Data Engineers.

• Free RPGLE with embedded SQL.
