Job summary

Delan Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced IBM i administrator to manage AS/400 environments in a long-term engagement in the Phoenix area.

The role requires strong expertise in CL programming, BRMS, and system administration, with responsibilities spanning upgrades, backups, DR planning, and performance tuning. The candidate will collaborate across infrastructure, application, and security teams, participate in on-call rotations, and provide documentation and best-practice guidance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supporting IBM i / AS/400 environments.
• Strong experience with IBM i (i5/OS, OS/400) and Power Systems.
• Proficiency in CL programming and Control Language commands.
• Experience with BRMS, PTF management, backups, restores, and DR planning.
• Knowledge of libraries, objects, subsystems, job queues, and security administration.
• Experience with PowerVM/VIOS/LPARs and OS upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain IBM i (AS/400) systems.

• Monitor and optimize system performance, storage, and capacity.
• Configure and manage user profiles, security policies, and access controls.
