Job summary

Integrative Systems, a Chicago-based software firm with 20+ years of experience, seeks an IBMi Development specialist. You will work with US and India-based developers to deploy, support, and develop applications on the IBM i platform using RPG, CL, SQL, and COBOL when needed.

Focus on robust, secure code, modern DevOps practices, and cloud/open-source tools. Responsibilities include analysis, coding, testing, deployment, documentation, and collaborating with stakeholders in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient in RPG (SQLRPGLE) and CL for IBM i/AS400 deployments.
• Strong SQL and DB2 expertise on the IBM i platform.
• Experience with modern DevOps practices, cloud services, and open-source tools.

Responsibilities

• Development & coding: write, test, and deploy applications using RPG (SQLRPGLE), CL, SQL, COBOL, and potentially Java.
• System maintenance: identify and resolve issues, apply security patches, ensure stability.
• Modernization: transition legacy systems to modern DevOps, integrating open-source tools and web services.
• Testing & deployment: conduct unit, regression, and integration tests; assist with deployment and post-deployment support.
• Collaboration: work within agile teams, communicate with stakeholders, support helpdesk functions.
• Documentation: adhere to change control processes and maintain code quality.
