Job summary

Harris Computer is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, develop, test, and support enterprise healthcare applications on the IBM i platform. You will work with RPG, CL, Db2 for i, and SQL, following established architecture and quality standards.

You’ll participate in requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and production support, while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to process improvements across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of commercial software-development experience.
• Experience with IBM i and RPG/CL development.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, testing, and change-management processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to document designs and decisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain programs using RPG, ILE RPG, free-form RPG, CL, Db2 for i, embedded SQL, SQL procedures, and user-defined functions.
• Produce designs that follow architecture, database, security, and coding standards.
• Analyze requirements and translate them into software solutions.
• Design, develop, test, debug, implement, and maintain applications on the IBM i platform.
• Provide estimates and communicate risks and changes affecting delivery.
