Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation seeks a Lead IBM i / Power Systems Engineer to lead the IBM Power and IBM i environment supporting ERP and business applications. You will balance hands-on platform engineering with modernization, automation, observability, and security across the IBM i ecosystem.

You will partner with application, database, storage, and network teams to ensure ERP availability, perform capacity planning, and drive platform reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

Five or more years of hands-on experience administering IBM i OS and IBM Power Systems in enterprise production environments.
Experience with IBM i system administration, including patching, upgrades, and capacity management.
Experience with HA/DR solutions and IBM Power hardware environments.

Responsibilities

Serve as the senior escalation point for complex operational issues and security across IBM Power and IBM i.
Provide end-to-end engineering and administration of IBM Power infrastructure (LPARs, VIOS, PowerVM).
Configure, patch, and optimize IBM i environments and perform capacity planning.
Drive automation and IaC to streamline patching, compliance, and maintenance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support platform modernization and incident response.
