Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation, Inc. is seeking a Lead IBM i / Power Systems Engineer to own the health, performance, security, and evolution of our IBM Power environment supporting ERP & critical applications.

This senior role blends hands-on platform engineering with modernization, automation, observability, and infrastructure best practices across IBM i. You will partner with cross-functional teams to enhance reliability and business continuity.

Qualifications

5+ years hands-on IBM i/Power administration in enterprise environments.
Experience with IBM Power hardware, IBM i OS, HMC, LPARs/PowerVM, VIOS.
Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery for IBM i.
Proficient in CL scripting for IBM i automation.
Strong ITIL/process knowledge and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

Serve as senior escalation point for complex IBM Power/IBM i issues and security.
Administer end-to-end IBM Power infrastructure including partitions, VIOS, and hardware.
Configure patches, upgrades, capacity planning, and lifecycle activities.
Design and support HA/DR solutions to ensure ERP availability.
Advance observability and automation to reduce incidents and improve reliability.
Collaborate with application, database, storage, network, and security teams.
