Job summary

EY is seeking a Backend Support Engineer for IBM APIC Platform Operations to design, develop, and support robust API solutions at scale.

You will build and publish REST/SOAP APIs, implement security and governance, and collaborate across teams to ensure high availability in hybrid-cloud environments.

The role requires hands-on experience with APIC/DataPower, OpenShift, and CI/CD pipelines, with readiness for on-call responsibilities and global collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent
• Experience with high-availability and resilient system design patterns
• Knowledge of event-driven and microservices architectures
• Exposure to logistics, transport, or enterprise integration domains

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise-grade API and integration solutions using IBM API Connect and DataPower.
• Create, publish, secure, and manage REST and SOAP APIs within APIC environments.
• Develop GatewayScript, XSLT, XPath, and transformation services for complex integrations.
• Design scalable integration architectures supporting cloud, hybrid-cloud, and on-premises apps.
• Implement API security, authentication, authorization, encryption, and governance policies.
• Deploy and support APIC and DataPower within OpenShift and containerized environments.
• Integrate enterprise apps including Salesforce, LOS, Servicing, Payment Gateways, Fraud platforms, and third-party solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and technical solution reviews to maintain standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to APIs, middleware, networking, cloud connectivity, and integrations.
• Support automated deployment pipelines and DevOps initiatives using GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
• Participate in on-call production support during off-hours and critical events.
