Job summary

General Motors Company is seeking a seasoned Security Software Engineer to join the IAM team. You will design and advance IAM technology, integrate security into CI/CD and cloud-native environments, and serve as an internal SME on architecture and best practices for identity strategy.

You will collaborate across teams to embed security into system design, review code, model threats, and build monitoring and API services that support security operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, cybersecurity, or related field.
• 9+ years’ IAM admin/config/support experience.
• Proficiency in Python/Go/Java/C++.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP and Docker/Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure coding.
• Experience collaborating with security/audit teams.
• Strong communication and agile work style.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop security-focused software and automation.
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native environments.
• Collaborate with infra and apps teams to embed security in architecture.
• Conduct code reviews and threat modeling to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Build and maintain systems for monitoring, logging, and alerting on security events.
• Develop APIs and microservices that support security operations.
• Participate in incident response and forensic investigations as needed.
• Stay current with emerging threats and technologies.
