Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Instrumentation & Electrical experience in midstream oil and gas or similar facilities.

  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining instrumentation, electrical, control, measurement, and communication systems.
  • Working knowledge of NEC and applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, ABB Totalflow systems, RTUs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial networks.
  • Strong computer, troubleshooting, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, lead others, and respond to after-hours callouts as needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, calibration specifications, P&IDs, and drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the I&E Technician team, providing technical support for instrumentation, electrical, controls, and communications.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and oversight to I&E personnel.
  • Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain instrumentation, electrical, control, automation, and communications equipment.
  • Install and maintain transmitters, controllers, analyzers, flow meters, control valves, and other process devices.
  • Install, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment including motors, drives, PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, transformers, relays, MCCs, and power/control systems.
  • Install and maintain electrical wiring, conduit, panels, lighting, and communication systems, including fiber optic cabling.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, electrical drawings, loop drawings, control narratives, and other documentation.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Support facility startups, outages, commissioning activities, and capital projects.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, contractors, and vendors to execute work safely and efficiently.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve reliability, safety, and operational performance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance, calibration, and compliance records.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Job description

Stampede Midstream is a Denver-based midstream company committed to providing safe, reliable, and efficient energy infrastructure solutions in the DJ Basin. Formed through the merger of Taproot Rockies Midstream and Zen Midstream LLC and backed by Quantum Energy Partners, Stampede delivers value through operational excellence, responsible development, and strong customer partnerships.

Stampede currently owns and operates more than 150 miles of crude gathering and transportation pipeline and over 175 miles of produced water gathering pipeline across more than one million combined dedicated acres. Stampede also operates a robust fresh water supply, storage, and distribution system, as well as the Ren Compressor Station and associated gas gathering and gas lift infrastructure in the northeastern DJ Basin. Stampede currently transports more than 80,000 barrels of crude oil per day, 100,000 barrels of produced water per day, and gathers more than 75 MMcf of natural gas per day.

Summary

The Senior I&E Technician provides technical leadership and support for instrumentation, electrical, control, and communication systems across Midstream facilities. This position serves as a lead technician responsible for maintenance, reliability, troubleshooting, and team support.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Serve as the lead I&E Technician for Midstream facilities, providing technical support for instrumentation, electrical, controls, and communications systems.
  • Lead and support I&E personnel through technical guidance, training, and oversight.

Additional Information

Compensation

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $41.00 - $66.00 hourly in this location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above.

Location

This position is located Briggsdale, CO. This position isn’t available for remote work. Candidates currently residing in locations outside of daily commuting distance will be considered, however, no relocation or travel assistance will be provided by the Company for this position.

This position operates in a field environment. This entails working outside in variable weather conditions. Employee could be exposed to extreme weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, vibrations or dust.

Physical Demands

In the performance of the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is required to have visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle and view a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time. While at work sites, the employee will be expected to walk and stand. Individuals might be asked to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and/or crawl. Individuals might be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. in the performance of this position.

Position Type and Working Hours

This is a full-time position. This position will require working nights and weekends occasionally as dictated by the operational needs of the field. Typical work hours are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Employees must be capable and willing to work overtime as required. Employees responsible for project operations are expected to monitor and, in some cases, respond to emails, calls, or texts outside of business hours.

Travel

Routine, even daily, travel to remote locations will be expected. Overnight stays may be required from time to time for training, seminars, or visits to other company office locations.
