Stampede Midstream, based in Denver, seeks an engineering leader to oversee gathering, compression, processing and pipelines across DJ Basin assets. This role focuses on asset integrity, safety, regulatory compliance, and capital development.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team, set technical direction for design, cost estimates, construction and operation, and partner with Operations, Business Development, EHS, and executives to optimize performance and value.
Stampede Midstream is a Denver-based midstream company committed to providing safe, reliable, and efficient energy infrastructure solutions in the DJ Basin. Formed through the merger of Taproot Rockies Midstream and Zen Midstream LLC and backed by Quantum Energy Partners, Stampede delivers value through operational excellence, responsible development, and strong customer partnerships.
Stampede currently owns and operates more than 150 miles of crude gathering and transportation pipeline and over 175 miles of produced water gathering pipeline across more than one million combined dedicated acres. Stampede also operates a robust fresh water supply, storage, and distribution system, as well as the Ren Compressor Station and associated gas gathering and gas lift infrastructure in the northeastern DJ Basin. Stampede currently transports more than 80,000 barrels of crude oil per day, 100,000 barrels of produced water per day, and gathers more than 75 MMcf of natural gas per day.
We are seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking engineering leader with significant midstream experience and a strong understanding of gathering, compression, processing, and pipeline operations. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, sound business judgment, and proven leadership skills to influence decisions, develop teams, and drive performance in a dynamic operating environment. DJ Basin experience is strongly preferred.
This role provides strategic oversight for engineering activities across the company's midstream assets, including gathering systems, compression facilities, pipelines, processing infrastructure, and related operations. This role is responsible for supporting asset integrity, operational performance, regulatory compliance, and capital development projects while partnering closely with Operations, Business Development, EHS, and Executive Leadership. This role plays a key role in optimizing existing assets, evaluating growth opportunities, and supporting the company's long-term objectives.
Compensation amount for this role is targeted at $171,800 - $284,700 annually in this location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above.

This position is located Denver, Colorado. Candidates currently residing in locations outside of daily commuting distance will be considered, however, it is the expectation that the selected individual will be available at the work location. No relocation or travel assistance will be provided by the Company for this position.
In the performance of the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is required to have visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle and view a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time. While at work sites, the employee will be expected to walk and stand. Individuals might be asked to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and/or crawl. Individuals might be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. in the performance of this position.
This is a full-time position. We operate on a 9/80 work schedule. Typical work hours are from 8am-5pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8am-4pm on working Fridays. Employee must be capable and willing to work overtime as required and to participate in occasional meetings, events, seminars, conferences, or other activities outside of typical work hours. Employees responsible for project operations are expected to monitor and, in some cases, respond to emails, calls, or texts outside of business hours.
Occasional travel to work site locations may be expected. Overnight stays may be required from time to time for training, seminars, field visits, or visits to onsite locations.
