Aalo Atomics based in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Instrumentation and Controls Test Engineer to develop measurement, control, and automation systems for reactor development and experimental hardware. You will own I&C for bench-top to automated test stands and collaborate with cross-functional teams to commission and support diverse test equipment.

The role emphasizes PLC logic, HMIs, data acquisition, and rigorous test protocols to ensure reliable, auditable results across testing stages.

Competenze

• Five+ years of hands-on engineering with instrumentation, controls, automation, or test systems.
• Experience selecting and integrating sensors, signal conditioning, and data acquisition.
• Experience developing PLC-based controls, I/O, HMIs, and control-loop behavior.
• Authoring and executing formal test protocols with traceability and revision control.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot industrial networks and communications.
• Understanding calibration, measurement accuracy, sampling, and uncertainty in data.
• Turn incomplete test requirements into functioning, documented systems during commissioning.
• Implement interlocks and safe operation with electrical hardware and test-system hazards.
• Clear documentation and collaboration across engineering teams.

• Develop test methods and procedures mapping requirements to acceptance criteria.
• Develop and maintain testing procedures for consistent execution and audit readiness.

• Develop reusable instrumentation approaches for future validation and production testing.
