Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation in Dallas, TX, is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Control design leader to manage multi‑discipline I&C design projects for water and wastewater utilities. You will coordinate design and field activities, engage with clients, and drive performance across automation, instrumentation and SCADA solutions.

The role emphasizes strong problem solving, leadership, and client collaboration, with hybrid work options after an initial onboarding period.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program
• Minimum 5 years related work experience
• Pre-employment onboarding requirements may include background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search

Responsibilities

• Create relationships with clients in the Texas area and liaise between the local design team, client and design center teams
• Coordinate marketing, planning, design and construction phase services for automation, instrumentation, control and SCADA projects for water and wastewater utilities
• Lead execution and take overall responsibility for I&C design projects and coordinate I&C engineering efforts for large multi‑discipline projects
• Attend client and contractor meetings, perform field investigations, support FAT, and help resolve I&C issues
• Monitor and control project schedule and budgets; assist with proposals and presentations
• Support multiple Water and Wastewater and other Market Sector projects with advanced engineering solutions and technical challenges
