Job summary

Duke Energy's Project Management and Construction (PMC) group seeks a Lead I&C Engineer to manage all phases of project planning and execution, including DCS procurement, design, and commissioning. This role provides technical leadership for a matrixed team and ensures compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have BS in Engineering from ABET-accredited program and/or PE
• Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience
• State registration as a Professional Engineer
• A master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree
• Strong working knowledge Emerson Ovation control system and Allen-Bradley PLCs
• Good written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Specify and procure Emerson DCS equipment; develop and review control logic and graphics; lead hardware and software factory acceptance testing.
• Support development phase of major project scope and EPC bid package.
• Support development with Transmission for interconnection design and ensure contract documentation aligns with interconnection scope.
• Support cost estimate, schedule, risk analysis, bid evaluation and contract development.
• Provide engineering oversight to ensure compliance with project requirements, contract, and design criteria.
• Participate in design reviews, drawing reviews, construction support, RFIs, commissioning support and project warranty support.
• Provide oversight for construction and programming of site controls and cyber security assets.
