Job summary

BW Design Group is seeking a Sr. Designer, I&C, to join our team of professionals.

You will work with licensed engineers and designers to create panels, P&IDs, BIM models, and IO schedules for industrial facilities, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with multiple offices. The role requires strong Revit expertise, familiarity with ISA, NEC, NFPA, and UL508A standards, and travel for project requirements.

Qualifications

• Eight years of relevant experience.
• Strong user experience with Revit.
• Experience executing projects for industrial facilities with focus on quality, cost effectiveness, and safety.
• Knowledge of ISA standards, NEC, NFPA, UL508A.
• Technical competency in Instrumentation, control systems, panel design.
• Proficiency in wire sizing, voltage drop, conduit fill, cable tray sizing.
• Expertise in design criteria and specification for I&C equipment.
• Instrument selection, datasheets, IO lists, cable schedules, valve indexes.
• Wiring and conduit drawings using AutoCAD and 3D modeling in Revit.
• Assist in development of construction drawings and review work packages.
• Digital communication protocols and cross-communication methods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with management, clients, vendors.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Revu Bluebeam.
• Willingness to travel for project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work with licensed engineers and experienced designers to design panels, planview drawings, BIM models for industrial facilities.
• Train/mentor less experienced professionals in client and industry standards and best practices.
• Exhibit leadership to manage a team of designers during a project.
• Develop IO wire pull schedule and perform conduit, wire sizing, voltage drop, conduit fill, cable tray sizing.
• Develop Network cable pull schedule.
• Create construction drawings for I&C deliverables (P&IDs, panel drawings, installation details).
• Interpret and apply industry codes and standards including hazardous area classification for electrical equipment.
• Develop specifications and review vendor submittals.
• Occasionally provide on-site assessment, construction support, and start-up support.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines across offices.
• Make an impact day-to-day with client and team relationships.
