Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Human Factors Engineer to lead HF development and execution for hypersonic programs. The role centers on MBSE-driven system architecture, HF requirements, and verification planning in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.

You will define verification methods, author ICDs, and deliver HF trade studies and validation reports for program reviews, while mentoring junior engineers to elevate engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 8+ years of related experience or higher degrees with adjusted years of experience.
• Master's or PhD preferred for advanced roles.
• Experience translating human factors standards into system requirements and verification plans.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to system architecture using MBSE tools.
• Generate and trace human factors requirements across the system hierarchy.
• Define verification methodology for HF standards compliance.
• Author requirement sets and ICDs.
• Produce HF deliverables for program reviews (trade studies, matrices, validation reports).
• Participate in lab demonstrations and HIL testing for usability and crew interaction.
• Mentor junior engineers on MBSE, verification planning, and best practices.
