Job summary

Cisco is seeking a Customer Reliability Engineer to own Hypershield cases for the Nexus N9300 Smart Switch fabric and on-premises Kubernetes controller. You will diagnose complex incidents, localize faults across multiple layers, and drive fixes with engineering while rebuilding knowledge bases and runbooks for future reliability.

The role requires deep networking expertise, strong troubleshooting, and experience supporting enterprise customers in a technical environment.

Qualifications

Experience supporting enterprise customers in a commercial capacity.
Experience operating and troubleshooting Cisco Nexus / NX-OS in production.
Ability to localize failures across layered data-center architectures.
Linux operations with exposure to containers, Kubernetes, or VMs.

Responsibilities

Own Hypershield cases from Cisco TAC to resolution with direct customer engagement.
Diagnose complex production failures in Nexus/NX-OS and on-prem Kubernetes controller.
Localize faults across switching/forwarding, security services, and control plane.
Reproduce issues, partner with engineering to drive fixes, and communicate results.
Develop runbooks, diagnostics, and knowledge-base content from incidents.
Contribute to monitoring and reliability practices as the installed base grows.
