LoJac Hydro Excavation is seeking a Senior Project Estimator to lead bidding and cost estimation for hydrovac, industrial vacuum, and utility locating projects. You will evaluate RFPs, perform site assessments, and build competitive pricing models that consider crew, water sourcing, transit, and disposal fees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years in construction estimating; 2–3 years in hydrovac/underground utility work.
• Proficiency with estimating software and digital quantity take-offs.

Responsibilities

• Bid & Estimate Preparation: Develop comprehensive, multi-tiered cost estimates from blueprints, utility maps, SUE plans, and RFP documents.
• Hydrovac Specific Cost Modeling: Formulate accurate pricing accounting for hydro-excavation variables: soil, water access, disposal fees, slurry logistics, tooling.
• Risk Assessment & Constructability: Review footprints for hazards and environmental restrictions; factor contingency margins into proposals.
• Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Solicit, review, and negotiate quotes for ancillary costs like traffic control and shoring.
• Site Inspections: Conduct pre-bid site visits to evaluate conditions, travel logistics, and access constraints for heavy hydrovac trucks.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Project Managers and Field Superintendents during handoffs to ensure bid assumptions align with execution.
• Historical Data Retention: Track and benchmark post-project costs to refine pricing database.
