City of Long Beach is seeking a Senior Estimator to manage the full estimating process for underground wet utility projects, from concept to bid submission and project handoff. Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience estimating wet utility projects.
• Strong knowledge of underground utility construction and traffic conditions.
• Experience with self-performing general engineering contractors.
• Ability to analyze plans, specifications, and cost data.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for water, sewer, and storm drain systems.
• Develop cost estimates from concept to completion.
• Analyze project plans and specifications to determine scope and cost.
• Evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals for accuracy and completeness.
• Incorporate field input and historical data to refine estimates and construction methodologies.
• Support operations with change orders pricing, value engineering, and alternative method analysis.
• Maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and project partners.
• Ensure all estimates comply with company standards and reflect realistic execution strategies.
