Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist for our Shelton, CT or Valhalla, NY office. You will provide senior technical support on groundwater sampling, aquifer tests, and water withdrawal permitting.

The ideal candidate has a geology/hydrogeology background with 10+ years of experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to mentor others while meeting regulatory requirements. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geology or hydrogeology and related field.
• 10+ years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of water withdrawal laws, regulations and recordkeeping.
• Experience implementing aquifer pumping tests.
• Strong written and verbal communication for scientific and non‑scientific audiences.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydrogeology projects and supervise junior team members.
• Guide aquifer tests and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collect samples and analyze data to determine next steps.
• Coordinate with water suppliers, municipalities and developers in the northeast.
• Maintain QA/QC standards and responsible use of company resources.
• Ensure data integrity and proper documentation.
