Job summary

INTERA Incorporated is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist / Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our Water Resources and Supply team in Austin, Texas. The role requires leading groundwater and water-supply projects, managing staff, and delivering defensible technical work with clear client communication.

The successful candidate will hold a Texas PG or PE license and have 10+ years of relevant experience, with expertise in hydrogeology, aquifer characterization, and groundwater management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geology, hydrogeology, geoscience, environmental science, or related field.
• Active Texas PG or PE license.
• 10+ years in consulting, water resources, groundwater supply, or related field.
• Experience leading technical work, scope, schedule, and deliverables.
• Strong knowledge of hydrogeology, groundwater-flow, aquifer characterization, and data interpretation.
• Ability to lead technical work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong technical writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and participate in field activities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead and project manager for hydrogeologic and groundwater projects.
• Lead hydrogeologic investigations supporting groundwater supply and aquifer characterization.
• Develop conceptual hydrogeologic models using multidisciplinary data.
• Direct field programs including drilling, well installation, sampling, and monitoring deployments.
• Prepare and review technical reports, work plans, and deliverables for clients and regulators.
• Provide QA/QC and technical reviews of others’ work.
• Mentor junior staff and provide day-to-day direction.
• Communicate progress, risks, and next steps to clients and stakeholders.
• Travel to client sites and participate in field activities as needed.
• Uphold INTERA safety requirements during fieldwork.
