Job summary

Barrick is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to join the Fourmile Project Team in Elko, NV. The role focuses on groundwater management, modeling, and remediation, with a senior-level emphasis on regulatory compliance and operations.

The position involves mentoring staff, budgeting hydrogeologic work, and coordinating with multiple departments to optimize water handling and project success. A strong background in hydrogeology and modeling is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in hydrogeology, geology, civil engineering (or similar) is required.
• Ten (10) years of experience in the mining industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with water well systems, hydraulic flow, and well field balancing is preferred.
• Knowledge of advanced principles in hydrogeology and hydrology preferred.
• Ability to analyze complex hydrogeologic data and communicate findings effectively preferred.
• Familiarity with hydrogeologic modeling techniques is required.
• Experience formulating hydrogeologic models is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory constraints related to water management activities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the project manager in delivering the project by performing advanced hydrogeologic analysis.
• Ensure hydrogeologic data is collected, analyzed, and applied for dewatering costs and schedules.
• Coordinate hydrogeologic review of modeling and mine designs with stakeholders.
• Communicate with geology, mine engineering, environmental, and operations teams.
• Budget and forecast hydrogeologic work for all projects.
• Analyze groundwater and surface water data for quantity and quality.
• Prepare reports on groundwater basins and surface water resources.
• Manage consultant contracts and develop computer models for hydrogeologic details.
