Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group seeks a Sr. Hydro Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in design engineering, fleet engineering, commissioning, and maintenance of hydro turbines and BOP systems for projects across the United States and Canada.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree required.
• 10+ years hydropower experience.
• Experience in hydro turbine design, fleet engineering, commissioning, or operations.
• Experience with turbine commissioning and performance testing.
• Hands-on FEA/CFD experience for hydro machinery.
• Rotor dynamics and rotating equipment mechanics understanding.
• Willingness to travel for site inspections and commissioning activities.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate mechanical design of hydro turbines and related components.
• Perform calculations for structural, vibration, fatigue, and hydraulic loads.
• Oversee FEA/CFD simulations using ANSYS or equivalents.
• Support condition assessments, refurbishments, uprates, and modernization.
• Prepare technical specs, calculation notes, reports and drawings.
• Lead or support turbine commissioning and performance verification.
• Coordinate with electrical, civil, and controls engineers on integrated design.
• Ensure compliance with IEC and ASME standards and other codes.
• Attend client meetings and provide site inspections and QA.
• Travel up to 15% as needed.
