Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group seeks a Hydro Mechanical Engineer with experience in hydro turbines, fleet engineering, commissioning, and operation of BOP systems for projects across the United States and Canada.

The role involves mechanical assessments, calculations, troubleshooting, maintenance planning, asset optimization, and technical reporting. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure reliability and performance of hydro assets.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree with emphasis on stress analysis or turbomachinery.
• 6+ years hydropower experience and turbine design knowledge.
• Experience with FEA/CFD and rotor dynamics knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate hydro turbine designs and components for mechanical integrity.
• Perform mechanical calculations for structural, vibration, and hydraulic loads.
• Conduct or oversee FEA/CFD simulations using ANSYS.
• Support condition assessments, refurbishments, and uprates.
• Prepare technical specs, calculation notes, and drawings.
• Lead or support turbine commissioning and performance verification.
• Travel up to 15%.
