Job summary

STV, Inc. in Raleigh, NC seeks a Hydraulics Engineer to lead hydraulics design for transportation AD projects, directing the design team and ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.

The role requires extensive hydrologic and hydraulic design experience, prior discipline lead experience, client liaison abilities, and a PE license. OpenRoads Designer experience is preferred for drainage work.

Qualifications

• Extensive Hydrologic and Hydraulic Design experience on AD Transportation Projects in the South Region.
• Experience successfully serving as a Discipline Lead, Sub-Discipline Lead, or Deputy Discipline Lead on Projects of varying size and complexity.
• Experience acting as a client liaison.
• Proven track record of delivering Drainage designs for municipalities & DOT's throughout the South Region.
• Strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Function as Sub-Discipline Lead or Deputy Discipline Lead on small to large AD projects, responsible for the work of the technical group.
• Plan, direct, and supervise the work of a design team requiring organization of manpower and financial accountability.
• Leads other engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth.
• Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
• Ensures compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract.
• Prepares material/equipment technical specifications.
• Coordinate subconsultant work as necessary.
• Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
• Help determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
• May assist with other administrative and technical duties.
