Job summary

Amentum in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Hydraulic Facility Engineer to lead design, installation, and operation of facility mechanical systems and hydraulic pump rooms. You will collaborate with customers, test engineers, and trades to deliver reliable test facilities.

Ideal candidates have a Civil/Mechanical/Hydraulic Engineering degree, strong CAD and hydraulic modeling skills, and experience with data acquisition and control systems. This role requires hands-on coordination and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Hydraulic Engineering.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written skills; technical leadership and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the design, installation, and application of mechanical systems used in facility.
• Direct and manage design and operations of hydraulic pump rooms.
• Specify, develop facility utility interfaces for test cell mechanical equipment.
• Specify and develop designs for central building process mechanical equipment.
• Collaborate with customers, test engineers, and support staff.
• Prepare mechanical system specifications and project timing plans.
• Design, modify, and adapt fluid systems for facility test stands.
• Serve as technical resource for design, estimating, and scheduling; interact with AE firms, CCM partners, and equipment suppliers.
• Work with skilled trades to install, modify, and commission equipment.
• Ensure accurate completion of new or modified systems documentation and drawings.
