Job summary

Wilson Engineers is seeking an experienced Hydraulic Engineer - Civil Engineer to join our Nevada team. This 40-hour-per-week position is based in our Las Vegas office and will support our Northern Nevada operations.

Relocation assistance available for well-qualified candidates. You will perform hydrologic/hydraulic modeling with HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS/Flo-2D and prepare drainage design drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation, within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of drainage experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Proficient with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Flo-2D
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS and QGIS; GISP certification desirable
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Team-oriented
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods and techniques
  • Ability to prepare civil engineering documents and specifications for projects

Responsibilities

  • Prepares hydrologic and hydraulic models using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, & Flo-2D.
  • Prepares hydrologic and hydraulic studies and FEMA permitting; floodplain modeling experience preferred.
  • Researches jurisdictional drainage requirements for design and construction drawings.
  • Oversees drainage design and construction drawings using AutoCAD & MicroStation
  • Works as a member of a multi-discipline team.
  • Mentors EIT staff regarding hydrologic and hydraulic theory and practice
  • Conducts site visits and documents findings.
  • Writes and coordinates preparation of graphic materials for presentations and documents.

We are seeking an experienced Hydraulic Engineer - Civil Engineer to join our team. This position is 40 hours per week in our Las Vegas office. This position will support our Northern Nevada operations. Relocation assistance available for well-qualified candidates!




Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Prepares hydrologic and hydraulic models using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, & Flo-2D.

  • Prepares hydrologic and hydraulic studies and FEMA permitting; prior floodplain modeling work experience in Douglas County is a preferable.

  • Researches jurisdictional drainage requirements for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings.

  • Oversees production of drainage design and construction drawings using AutoCAD & MicroStation

  • Performs data management and prepare exhibits using ArcGIS and QGIS desirable.

  • Works as a member of a multi-discipline team.

  • Mentors EIT staff regarding hydrologic and hydraulic theory and practice

  • Conducts site visits and document findings.

  • Writes and coordinates preparation of graphic materials for presentations and documents.




Requirements
