Wilson Engineers in Reno, NV is seeking an experienced Hydraulic Engineer to join our Civil/Municipal team. This full-time role supports Northern Nevada operations, with relocation assistance for well-qualified candidates.

The position focuses on hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, floodplain studies, and drainage design using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Flo-2D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GIS tools, with mentorship of EIT staff and site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of drainage experience.
• PE license preferred.
• Proficient with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Flo-2D.
• Proficient with ArcGIS and QGIS; GISP certification desirable.

Responsabilités

• Prepares hydrologic and hydraulic models using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, & Flo-2D.
• Performs drainage studies and FEMA permitting; floodplain modeling in Douglas County preferred.
• Researches jurisdictional drainage requirements for design docs.
• Oversees drainage drawings in AutoCAD & MicroStation.
• Performs data management and exhibits using ArcGIS and QGIS.
• Works as a member of a multi-discipline team.
• Mentors EIT staff regarding hydrologic and hydraulic theory and practice.
• Conducts site visits and documents findings.
• Writes and coordinates preparation of graphics for presentations and documents.
