Job summary

Housing Authority of Cook County is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to oversee the architecture, administration, security governance, and resilience of the enterprise IT infrastructure. The role blends on-premises environments with cloud platforms, owning VMware vSphere, Windows Server, and enterprise M365 workloads.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 environments including Intune Entra ID Exchange
• Proven expertise in VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter administration and troubleshooting
• Experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, GPOs, DNS and DHCP
• Scripting with PowerShell for automation and configuration
• Experience with RMM tools for remote monitoring and management

Responsibilities

• Architect, administer and secure on-prem and cloud IT infrastructure
• Manage VMware virtualization, Windows Server, AD DS, DNS/DHCP
• Oversee M365 workloads incl. Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams; Entra ID governance
• Develop automation scripts and enforce change management
• Maintain system documentation and perform root-cause analysis for incidents
