Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an HWIL IT&E Engineer (E4) to provide senior technical leadership for real-time HWIL test-bed design, development, and IT&E evaluation of air-vehicle software and hardware. You will set technical strategy, influence program-wide decisions, and liaison with senior government and industry stakeholders.

You will lead architecture, estimation, and tool upgrades, mentor junior engineers, and champion best practices across the IT&E cycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HWIL integration, IT&E, real-time simulation or similar high-fidelity environments.
• Strong ability to present to senior leadership and customers with clear documentation.
• Experience leading small technical teams and collaborating across disciplines.
• Active Secret Security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the IT&E architecture for HWIL test-beds with real-time simulation standards.
• Influence budget and schedules; provide estimates and resource plans for IT&E subsystems.
• Design, develop, and validate stimulation and measurement solutions (DAQ, FPGA-based stimulators).
• Oversee integration, debugging, timing alignment, and verification in real-time sims.
• Translate mission objectives into HWIL test cases and backlog items.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers; conduct technical reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Promote best-practice documentation and training on IT&E tools and processes.
• Identify and implement enhancements to improve fidelity, efficiency, and data-driven decisions.
• Drive adoption of advanced design tools and high-frequency simulation methods.
