HVACR Technical Support Specialist / Senior HVACR Technician

Location: Dania Beach, FL

Role

HVAC/R International is seeking an experienced and highly technical HVAC/R Technical Support Specialist to provide expert troubleshooting, repair guidance, and technical coaching to customers and field technicians. This position is ideal for a seasoned HVACR professional who enjoys sharing knowledge and helping others solve complex technical issues.

The successful candidate will serve as a technical resource, supporting customers and technicians both in the field and remotely via phone, video, and email. This role requires strong diagnostic abilities, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to simplify complex HVACR concepts for technicians of varying experience levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support to customers and HVACR technicians via phone, email, and virtual platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex HVACR system issues and guide technicians through repair procedures.
• Coach and mentor field technicians on best practices, diagnostics, system operation, and repair techniques.
• Conduct on-site field support and training when required.
• Assist customers in understanding equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and technical solutions.
• Support commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and service of HVACR systems.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, sequence of operations, and technical manuals.
• Document technical cases and communicate resolutions effectively.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and customer support teams to identify and resolve recurring technical issues.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional and solution-oriented approach.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of commercial HVACR service and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, heat pumps, controls, and rooftop package units.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex HVACR system issues.
• Experience mentoring, training, or coaching technicians in the field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Ability to support customers and technicians remotely while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Familiarity with electrical troubleshooting including low-voltage and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing technical support in a manufacturer, distributor, or technical service environment.
• OSHA 10-Hour Certification.
• NATE Certification or equivalent industry certification.
• Previous experience conducting technical training sessions or field coaching.

Estimated Salary: $90k-$115k / year, with flexibility based on experience, certifications, and technical expertise.
